Going to Madeira in a few weeks and was thinking of booking a guided day with either Lokoloko of Freeride,
Has anyone had any experiences of either of these companies and would you recommend them?
Cheers

rode with free ride in august. fantastic. word of caution their enduro rides are very hard core and their all mountain rides can be like afan on steroids. great fun but technical. well worth it

Have a search for Freeride Madeira on here - there's lots of really positive feedback.

We had a week with them in the spring and they were fantastic. The riding round there is amazing but you definitely need a guide and a means of getting to the top of the mountains ๐Ÿ™‚

Hmmm, I'm not into big jumps of any kind but don't mind rocky/technical steep descents, I've been told there is room on one of their Freeride/Enduro days, should I be scared

Heading to Madeira in a week, second time. Great for a holiday with the wife and a couple of days riding too!!

Freeride Madeira get my vote and i will be riding with them again this time.

Yes it's steep, rocky in places, slippery in others. Jumps are generally avoidable. Some trails are a little exposed! The guys are great and very professional. One of the best places I have ridden and the best for variety of climates and trails.

Was there in June, good bunch of guys. Pick up from your hotel. All the stuff I went on was pretty easy probably due to having some pretty inexperienced riders in the group.

Try lokoloko as well, I rode with them last year as free ride maderia were full, great service, small well matched group and the guide was good. They picked up from our hotel and the hire bikes were pretty good condition cannondale rize 120's, certainly better than ones I have hired in the Alps. The riding is amazing, they tend to offer more xc than downhill oriented routes but I enjoyed the pico arieiro route, heathland at the top down to banana groves at the bottom...
