So I'm going to be spending the winter in Gijon on the north coast of Spain.
Has anyone spent time out there and found good areas to ride or have any suggestions for places to look?

The whole northern coast is beautiful, you will love it.
No idea of Gijon specifically, we camped at llanes but very close is the Picos mountains - Look for Fuente Dé, Camaleño.
Take spare tubes though, that limestone is sharp.

Beautiful gorge walks, good road riding & huge pot holing caves there too.
