Ok, so this might be moon on a stick time but I'd really like some new riding glasses that are...

- photochromic: from ~100% clear to ~50% light transmission - I ride in a lot of dense forest and at night and want lenses that are as close to clear as possible (Oakleys seem to go from 65% to 25% iircc)
- anti-fogging / well vented: I'm a sweaty bugger so want glasses that don't fog up the moment you stop moving (Uvex 109s do a good job)
- reasonable pricing: £100 max.
- spare lenses available: would be great to be able to buy replacements.

Any suggestions?

The moon on a stick option you seek was the woefully short lived Oakley Persimmon to Black Iridium Transitions lens. Rather out of your budget, as well as being unavailable any more. 🙁

So, Tifosi. Great value for money, and some good lenses.

However, if you're in those dense forests at night, you need clear. Transitions and their ilk are great, but not great at proper darkness.

(FWIW, I am currently mostly using Prizm Trail, Prizm Road and a Clear. Oh, and I still occasionally use Persimmon, Old Skool Blue Iridium, VR28, Black Iridium, Gold Iridium, Bronze Polarised, VR28 Polarised and the aforementioned Persimmon/Black. And then there's the snow lenses....I think I might have a problem.... 🙂 )

Ta, will have a look at Tifosi. I've got some clear Uvex which are great but I fancy some for all occasions. Will pay a bit more if they're genuinely awesome.

Fancy some Prizm Trails but they're only 36% light transmission.

Fancy some Prizm Trails but they're only 36% light transmission.

I was a little sceptical myself, coming from Pro M Frames with Persimmon, VR28, Gold, Black, Blue and Clear (Missed that one earlier, oops!). However, in real world use, they're like a better version of the VR28, which had previously been my favourite all round daytime, decent weather lens. Very impressive, actually. Spendy, but good.

If I didn't have my [s]addiction[/s] collection of Os, I would be looking at Tifosi as the budget option. They're really rather good, too.

You're wrong about the light transmission of the Oakley lenses but as your budget is £100 that's irrelevant anyway.

Might be worth investigating Rudy Project.

My name is Flashy and I have a problem

What can I say. It's an [s]addiction[/s] affliction.

I found myself in an Oakley custom store in the US a couple of weeks ago, shaking like an alcoholic with the cellar keys....! I was strong, though. For once.

@scotroutes - the Oakley site lists it as 36% unless I'm reading it wrong

I have a pair of Oakley crosslink sweeps with transitions. Work really well and go to almost totally clear. Full dark is easily dark enough for road or MTB riding.
If I was buying again I'd go for the crosslink zero. Lighter with thinner arms to fit under your lid better. Might be able to squeeze a pair into your budget with a promo code and polite phone call (edit: to an online supplier).

What orena45 said. I have some of their photochromic lenses and think they will fit the bill.
Just scratched a lens and have a replacement on the way.

I just got some Rad 8 and they are ace. Stupid name, and annoyingly their Father's Day offer finishes in 2 minutes, which was £30 off.

Don't fog at all, even on long sloggy climbs in heat and clear to pretty dark just works (not sure of claimed percentages).

No issues riding at night in my transition EV Zeros. Only just out of budget, £130 at the Oakley store in Portsmouth.

It's expired but I got in touch with them and they gave me the discount anyway. That's a company that's out to impress. I hope the product lives up to the customer service.
