I know there is stuff on the Gower, but was wondering if Pembrey forest and surrounding area could divert a rider for an hour or two? I've heard there are tracks but not sure if there is anything 'properly' offroad.

Any local knowledge out there?

Not ridden there myself, but looks quite flat and I guess it would just be paths. Carmarthenshire riders (horse riders) have a number of bridleways listed for that area so you could have a look at that site, sorry don't know URL.

If it's just riding you want to do why not cycle along the coastal path towards Bynea and back or turn off and take the cycle path upto Tumble?

I live in Pontarddulais just up the road-some nice open natural stuff where we are.Cefn Drum is the biggest hill.

Lovely views from the top of the Gower, down the estuary past Llanelli and then up to black mountain and the brecons.

Worth a look.
Not many bridleways worth riding Llanelli way.
