Hi
Having a family break in Hunstanton in a couple of weeks
The in-laws are going so I plan on riding a few times, Is there any Mtb routes about? or shall I take the road bike and get some miles in?
Thanks

Hi mate

Only real MTB riding is Thetford or Bacton Woods, both about an hour from sunny Hunny, there is a lot of good quiet road riding though. If you do take MTB the Thetford trails are running fast at the moment.

There is no MTB riding close by, but the road riding is pretty good. There is also the option of the Peddars Way which would be great on a CX bike mixed up with some back lanes.

bentos - +1

A CX bike with two sets of wheels/tyres(road/off road) would allow you to get the best of the area.
It is very pretty around there. You wont be disappointed (especially if you like bird watching :-))

I grew up in Hunstanton and as the others have said you wont find any MTB. We used to go to a very small area in Ringstead Downs - accessed via Downs Road Hunstanton - which wouldn't occupy anyone for more than 10 minutes.
I'd take the road bike, it's not as pan flat as the people say - that's The Fens where I now live.

As above! In-laws live near there, took an MTB once and it was pretty pointless. On the other hand I can't wait to get my road bike over there and crack out some decent distance owing to quiet roads and less elevation than round here!

Thanks for the reply's
I don't have a cx bike, so I'll take the road bike and get some miles in any recommended routes about 40-50 miles it maybe more
