Thinking of getting a winter training/audax/light tourer/commuter bike. I'm currently looking at the Ribble but does anyone have any other suggestions I might have missed.
Also anyone own a Ribble? What are they like to ride? Have heard stories of them being really flexi .......
Had a 2007 version of the Ribble. Can't say it was noticeably flexy but it was my first road bike in 20 years! Certainly comfortable for long rides.
Saw loads out on the weekends RT. Dunno where the flexi bit comes from? they're only a winter hack and made of aluminium. Never thought of ally frame being flexible, not like cheap carbon or steel.
Yeah they seem perfectly alright.
Got one last year, it's good and reliable
i had a 7005 frame horizontal TT version. Thought it was pretty stiff, fairly heavy but thats no bad thing for a winter bike. Also had a Dolan Preffissio(sic) almost identical IMHO. Now i ride a Genesis Croix de fer, i much prefer steel for longer rides but doesn't feel as fast as the Ribble/Dolan did.
Genesis Aether 20 looks a bargain;

Bianchi Boy - Not a lot beats the Ribble winter bike. You could go onto Wiggle or Chain Reaction and see how much the Tifosi winter/audax bike is ghoing for, they had some in a sale when I last looked.
