I'm off to Dolgellau for the half term week.
Rather than go to Coed y Brenin, from the campsite, I've seen there is a bridleway loop north of Llanfachreth (Bwlch Gwyn and Bwlch Goriwared on the OS map), and if I have time go further north. A bit of an explore.

I've noticed that Bwlch Goriwared get me within a few km from the summit of Rhobell Fawr. OS maps show no paths, but there seem to be sheep trails on the aerial map leading to the summit.

I walked up years ago, but I can't remember much. Is it possible to ride up and down, or would I just be dragging my bike, there and back. Anyone been?

I'm an inexperienced mountain biker, with a Sonder Frontier SX, so I'll be easily swayed to not attempt it. There looks like a series of bridleways that track all around it, so that may be more enjoyable than slogging to the summit.
