The Mrs wants to get me something bike related for Chrimbo. We regularly drive past Revs on our frequent trips to Wales.

She's been muttering about getting me a gift voucher for an uplift pass there.

I've seen a few clips on YouTube and I think I can cope with the reds - a fair bit of them look rollable if I chicken out.

If I go would I be ok on a 140 trailbike or should I look at hiring one of the DH bikes?

Will I get enough out of just doing the reds for the day? I don't do massive jumps.

You’ll be fine.
There’s no mandatory air on most tracks.
If it’s wet, main line gets a bit tricky so watch out on that.

Revs is ace - it's pretty tough and is a step up from the likes of BPW.

Whenever I've been the number of big bikes far exceed the number of trail bikes etc however it's still OK on a trail bike (or so I'm told).

Can you comfortably ride the blacks on BPW? If yes, then the chance of death is marginally reduced. If not, then BPW will be more enjoyable.

Its a place for bigger bikes and proper tyres (dual ply, super tacky).

How does Revs compare to the likes of Black Mountain Cycle Centre / Windhill Bike Park then?

It doesn't compare, its the polar opposite of those...except maybe the steep switch back section on one of the windhill blacks.

It is more like Gawton - steep, rowdy and rough! All brilliant fun and I prefer the BMCC vibe to Revs, but they are all great fun

Can't comment on Wind Hill as I've never been

For BMCC I'd be happy on a trail bike or DH, but I'd probably take the DH (I've only ever ridden DH at BMCC)

For BPW I'd be happy on a trail bike or DH, I'd make my decision based upon which grade of trail I mostly wanted to ride (I've ridden both DH and trail bike at BPW)

For Revs I'd definitely want to be on a DH bike (I've only ridden trail bike at Revs)

Revs has the freeride line which is fine for most to ride, some of the other trails are a little hair raising but all worth trying. That being said I haven't been near the ffar side

Ridden there lots on 160 bikes, with plenty of friendss on same, we all loved it. THere's absolutely nuts stuff there if you fancy it, but the tamer tracks are fine. As someone say above, a step up from BPW or Antur blacks, and more natural so there's mud and roots and rocks. Great spot. A dog may sit on you during the uplift. The driver won't acknowledge the fact.

Thanks all.
Might push the boat out and hire a big rig for the day.
I probably won't be touching anything other than the reds.

Once you get your eye in (Like most tracks) it's fine. Even the main line is OK, it's better on a DH bike, but it's totally do-able on a trail bike. The reds are all fun, you can squash everything if you don't want to get airborne. Avoid the 50:10 line though 🙂

If you're only riding the reds my experience was it wears thin a little quickly compared to BPW or Antur. I'll ride most of Antur but found Revs hard work. Freeride line is fun but you do need to be able to jump to get the most from it, red DH is ok, blacks get funky fairly quickly if it's damp.

I have no riding talent whatsoever, rode the reds and main line / ghetto without dying.

Bpw red is my normal threshold appetite for riding
