Hi,
I have a reverb stealth that I have topped up with air but every time I remove the pump all air is lost. It's almost as if I can't detach the pump quick enough. The pressure was fine before I topped it up and there was no apparent leakage, I only did it as I had the saddle off. Any ideas? I've tried with 2 pumps now and it's the same. Any ideas?
Thanks.
Put twice as much air in as you need?
Open the valve in a room pressurised to the right pressure, then close the valve. Depressureise the room, hey presto, right pressure inside post.
Sorry.
Perhaps a sticking schrader valve in the reverb?, if you have a valve removal tool you could try swapping it out for a valve from a tube.
If it holds pressure while the pump is still attached it can only be the pump or the schrader valve on the post that is at fault.
Try a third pump or a different valve i reckon.
After trying coolhandlukes idea of trying in a room pressurized to 250 psi and failing I've ordered a valve key. Hopefully that will sort it.
Thanks
Had the same on my last one, ended up a warranty job
OK, think it may be a warranty job too. I've tightened the valve, no change. Tried to remove the valve but it looks like you cant remove it?! The bit that the tool engages to can be undone but not removed when it appears to be fully undone. Any ideas?
Sticking schrader valve, drop some oil on it and depress it a few times and try again, had this with a rear shock once.
I'll try that, thanks.
