Can anyone tell me what the distance is be from the centre of the seat rails to the where the top of the seat clamp would be (for the 125mm travel reverb) at full extension? I looked on the SRAM site, but couldn't find that info? Just wondering if my seat'd be too high...
Cheers.
190mm
Blimey - is that all? That's great news, cheers. The final slice of the pie may well fall into place, if only I can convince myself of the ongoing reliability..
Thanks for the prompt response Craig. ๐
Ok, so it looks like 190mm might be a close call (ok when wearing chunky flat pedal shoes, maybe a tad tall when running SPD's/lighter footwear), so can anyone tell me what that measurement would be for the 100mm travel reverb please?
Cheers again.
i think 190mm is wrong.
if you have a 420mm length post - it's 420 -(minimum insert) which i cant remember if its 4 inches but would leave approx 320mm at least for max extension.
edit: unless you mean the collar on the actual post?
The collar and seal bit is about an inch tall, so 5" of post and an inch max of clamp? I'd say arround 175mm. I run my saddle higher with a reverb anyway as it always needed to be 10-15mm lower with a fixed post to give any sense of controll on technical climbs.
craigxxl is correct, 19cm from base of collar to rail clamp, are you taking the p*ss when you ask what the distance is for one thats 2.5cm shorter?
According to this post on mtbr you need 195mm of post showing to run a 125mm reverb.
Minimum insertion is 80mm or what the frame manufacturer recoments - which ever is greater!
jamesco - If I'd thought it was that easy I'd not of posted eh? the 25mm difference is in the travel - it doesn't necessarily mean all of the other dimensional details will be identical, hence the question.. ๐
Just got through to Merlin Cycles who measured the 100mm travel post for me, the distance is 175mm (minimum exposed length at full extension) so clearly worth asking the question jamesco..
Looks like that's the one for me then. Cheers all.
