Today I was 2nd ride in on a new (replacement) reverb. Halfway through the ride I noticed that the post had become hard to compress, it goes down under my body weight, but not by hand and fella like there is more friction. The return appears to be ok. It's a bit like the seat clamp is too tight, but it is not.
Any similar experiences or ideas before I check the pressures and try a bleed.
There's 250psi pushing on the return, it will always look OK.
Have you tried moving the adjuster to the fastest position? The answer is most likely a bleed, but moving to the fastest setting should push more fluid and open up the valve.
Sometimes, after fiddling with brake position etc, the plunger comes up hard against the edge of something before it is fully depressed (it may only be 1/2 a mm off full travel) and this is enough to really slow down compression. Just check it has uninterrupted travel throughout its' full range before embarking on a bleed
If it's a stealth sometimes there can be a kink in the hose inside the seat tube. I've had the embarrassment of going to the LBS with a jammed reverb and all they did was pull the hose out a little.....won't make that mistake again. ๐ณ
Make sure your seatpost clamp isn't over torqued too.
Had a quick look whilst in the shed. Not over clamped or button obstruction, hose feels ok. Cycled the post up and down a few times and it seemed to work ok again now but got progressively harder, my guess is there's an air bubble somewhere and the difficulty of movement is dependant on where down the line or is, hopefully a bleed will sort it.
Just bleed it. If you have a bleed kit it will take you all of 10 minutes
My mates does this and mine has done it and was only bled yesterday, been told it might be the lever being less than upright or maybe the cold??
My 1st Reverb so I'm new to this
