[Closed] Revelation's Travel now not the same...

[#3643634]

I've noticed the last few rides
that they seem to sag into the travel a little more even with the same
pressure as I've been using for ages in both + & - chamber's.

So anyway I decided to do a lower service a bit early this month and I
don't know why but undid and took out the air sleeve from the left leg.
The thing is now I've come to re build the forks no matter what I do or
try I can not get the full 150mm travel, the u turn works but the forks
only show 135mm on the stantions. I'm pretty sure its do do with the
way That the black and white threaded parts at the top of the leg/air
chamber go together but for the life of me I can't work it out. Its as
though the travel is already reduced to 135 mm. I'm clean out of
patience and have left them re built as they are.

Anyone got any ideas what I'm doing wrong and how to sort it out, or am I just going to have to send them off to Loco

Cheers
Carl

Only thing I can suggest it to empty both chambers of air and refill, positive first. They can suck themselves down (oo-er! etc..) sometimes.

also depending on how old they are there was an issue with leakage between the 2 chambers. They were getting done on warranty though.

Done that made no difference, but I will try it again. The u turn works but only extends to 135mm, hence why I think its do do with the way I've put them back together

Has a new CSU in November off Loco and the rest are 2010

Is the U-turn assembly would fully out before putting it all back together.?

With no negative pressure in, do they go up to 150mm? If not then there's a problem. Daft question but there's definitely no travel reduce spacer in there?

Rob - Yes, but I think I might be missing something (not a part) when actually screwing in the 24mm nut/cap bit. Possibly winding down the travel at the same time but I'm not sure how to check or stop it doing that

Super - They only show, will wind out to 135mm no matter what. I don't think its serious more of a snag as to why they won't. Prob user/installer error. Defo no reducer.

Where's Loco when you need him??

From memory when i service my u-turn dual air pikes you have to make sure that the u-turn is full out.
Give me a min and i,ll find the service link that explains it.

GOT IT page 60

IMPORTANT BIT.
important: air u-turn fork MUST be set to full
travel setting before installing lower legs. turn air
u-turn knob counter-clockwise to set to full travel.

Thanks for that Rob, I'll give it another go, although I think I've tried/done that

All sorted now.

Thanks for the link Rob, I was doing it right but somehow it wound down or maybe it wasn't fully wound out when I was tightening the 24mm nut I don't know really.

Cheers
