[Closed] Revelations seem a bit leaky, is this normal?

I've got some 2008 U-Turn Revs. I fiddled with the airpressures on the weekend and now when you compress the forks you get an air escaping type noise from the valve - should I be worried?

Also, there was some oil in the valve cap, is that a worry?

im not worried.
mine have done it for months, and seem fine.
it will probably settle down after a while once the pressure has sorted itself out?

at worst, youll have to top up the oil in intervals that end up being longer than the service intervals,
and the air will require looking at once every month (which i tend to do anyway)
think of it as pushing any dirt outwards, rather than letting it come inwards 😉

Might be worth checking the valve is in tight and/or not damaged, if it is you can replaced it easily enough.

Oh yeah tlr 🙄 as if you have ever kept forks long enough for them to bed in, 2010 stuff is out now, so 2008 must seem like ancient kit to you

mine do that too. it's normal apparently. I spoke to TF Tuned and they said 'thats why you should buy them from us' 🙂

it's not coming from the valve- if you were actually losing air on compression, the fork would quickly deflate. It's just the internals doing whatever it is fork internals do. A wee bit of oil escape is also perfectly normal, but it should be small amounts.

thanks guys!

they dont seem to be loosing any air, the pressure was the same last night

the oil is enough to notice it looks wet but its not enough to be dripping

My Revs lose positve air pressure very slowly so they get pumped up once a month. They will go to TF Tuned at some point when I have a few quids. I had heard it was not uncommon but I can live with it for now.
