I'm sure this has been covered and I know it can be done, but I am thinking of reducing the travel on my Revs from 150mm to 130mm as I think my bike worked better at 130mm.
I just wondered if anyone has done this and how easy it was and what part is needed to do it?
You just need to change the solo air air shaft to a 10mm one (for solo air models 2013 onwards)
This involves removing the lower and air spring assembly, which is fairly easy (you'll need lower oil, some grease & a 130mm air spring assm.)
HTH
Would it be the same process as the video I've seen on YouTube of a Pike being done (from MBR I think?)?
Are these parts easily sourced as after a quick Google not much came up? Also, can I assume it will lower the axle to crown measurement too?

Got a link, so we can check?
The parts are fairly straightforward to get hold off but most shops won't have them on the shelf so a quick search on the web won't get many results.
Most shops will be able to order it from SRAM and some suspension specialists might have them in stock.
And yes axle to crown measurement will go down by the amount you lower the travel.
Here's the vid:
Looked simple enough if it is that process. Having said that, I have never worked on forks before so shouldn't be too cocky!
As far as I know the Rev solo air spring is very similar if not the same as the Pike solo air spring so yes the process should be virtually the same as in the video.
Just another quick question. Do all the other air spring internals need changing if I swap out the shaft or do they just fit onto the new one?
I've only swapped the older dual air spring not the newer solo air spring. But when I bought a new assembly it came with new o-rings and the full shebang. All that was needed was the oil and grease.
Check with who ever you are getting it from what is included. Unless the fork is pretty new I'd want to use new orings on the shaft. The circlip ring can be reused and should last the life of the fork.
The forks are brand new and not even fitted yet so seals should be OK. You can buy just the air shaft or the whole assembly so I assumed you could re-use all the other air spring internals.
You can buy just the air shaft for the travel change they're around £25
although our supplier is out of stock ATM & I'm pretty sure we don't have a 130mm (not often asked for size) one on the shelf I'm afraid.
Going from memory, it's virtually the same as the Pike and you only need to buy the air shaft. I got mine from Loco, along with oil and crush washers.
It's not a particularly difficult job, I'd never opened up a fork before and managed to do my Rev and Pike in the same week. There both still working as they should nearly 12 months later.
OK that's what I thought. I'll try and sort them after xmas now.
