[#5708744]

Got this fork (Dual Air, tapered, 150mm, 20mm bolt-through) - probably a 2011 I think - and it was superb for the first 3 months - made me very glad I'd chosen it over a 32. The performance seems to be slightly inconsistent now though - I'm beginning to wonder if air is actually getting into the fork and making it firmer as I ride. Is this even possible? I've ridden the fork hard since new, so I know it's due for a service, which I guess could make a difference. Any thoughts or experiences with this fork? Is it generally rated well? And where to send it if it does need a full overhaul, not just a micro-service? Thanks.

If they've never been serviced they're definatly due one, oil going off, seals wearing etc. If they're the uturn air ones they can be problematic due to the design of the air spring system (they only did the 150mm uturn air for 1 year) but they are convertable to dual air.

Do you have a shock pump?

Check the negative air pressure vs the positive. Too little in the negative can make the fork feel harsh.

And yes, as above, it will need a service.

Thanks v much everyone for these. Gonna try to service them myself and see if that improves things, otherwise I'll be sending them off, possibly your way LoCo. BTW - they're Dual Airs, not U-turn.

The seals are available as spares to do a full service yourself. It's fiddly but do-able at home. If you're not surejust send em off.
