2010 revelation race dual air. Lowers off for cleaning and lubing. The stanchions have a 10mm wide ring in the anodising where it is discoloured (not worn) - this ring starts at 160mm and down to 170mm (seems to be in aligmnet with the foam rings)

These are dead clean and are cleaned/lubed every 20hrs or so.

Is this problematic/normal/wrong?

I found damage to the anodising on my gf's stanchions around the bushing, but have noticed both on them and my rev's that the anodising is lighter in colour around the seals, probably from being worn away.

Have this on my Rebas - visible because I extended the travel. As you say it is in alignment with the seals and the foam rings. It's not causing me any problems and I've had them almost three years. It's really only cosmetic as far as I can tell.

It's not like they're Fox forks ๐Ÿ˜‰

Here's a pic of mine. Anodising is darkened around where the seals and foam rings were:

I'd sell them on Rob, they're broken.

Mine are like that too but this has been raised on here before and the concensus was that everyone's were like that and it's fine. It's just staining on the anodizing.

yeah I don't think it is anything to worry about. Maybe send off some pics to your retailer or fisher to make it official in case it gets worse.

Yep, fine, mine were like that a year ago when i bought them, hasn't worsened or caused a problem, maybe just an effect of being in contact with the foam ring and sitting for a while? either way its no issue

I got 2 brown spots on mine 2, but TBH does it matter? all the aires kept in other chambers, all these may affect is a *slight* (In the slightest possible sense) bit of smoothness and make them look unsightly shirley?

I had something similar on some 08 coils, then they started to have a lot of fore-aft movement under braking as the disc grabbed and released. Was told it was probably new bushes and also stantions / crown steerer, and would cost more than I'd originally paid.........saving for some marzocchi's............
