Does anyone make them and if not, why not?

How would you refill them? By posting back?

Somebody did a pressurised bottle thing that you could refill with a track pump

How many CO2 are you getting through?

Being metal the canister is fully recyclable though.

Are we sure they are actually recycled? This is an Australian article but it suggests mostly they end up in landfill because they're too risky to crush and recycle.

How would you reuse them? Do you have a large bottle of CO2 at home to fill them from?

They are an issue for recycles but can be recycled if the effort is made.

How many are people getting through though?

I bought 10 2 years ago and have never used one! If I was getting through that many I think I’d just go back to a pump.

I imagine it would cost more & be difficult to prevent a leak ....try drilling one out and glueing a presta valve in one... you could be on Dragons den...
🙂
I used 4 in 2018. I did put them in my recycle bin.

CO2 compressed to liquid has a pressure of something like 830PSI. That's not a typo. I wish anyone DIYing this the very best of luck 😀

I remember, in the old days of home saturated water dispensers we used to go to shop that was selling CO2 cartridges and just re-filling them. Actual cartridge was like returning your glass, beer bottle and having beer discounted by the cost of it.
It was working pretty fine and then of course consumerism came all fell from grace.

Cheers!
I.

Plenty of returnable/refillable CO2 bottles available in the home brew world. Got a couple in my shed along with a couple of full size pub CO2 bottles. Now, I wonder what alternative use I could find for them!
