Hi,

I've just recieved a new bike from chain reaction but i'm now thinking its the wrong size (I demo'ed the same size too!) - The problem is that I've fitted the seat/seatpost and put it all together out of the box. Am I screwed?

Cheers
Andy

Technically, you could tell them that you wish to cancel the order and the onus is on them to collect it.
But call them, I'm sure it would be easier for them to arrange collection than you having to sort it out.

If it's your cock up you can't really expect them to pay postage.

I think Parcelforce are the best courier for NI because they charge a flat rate - while most other firms want more.

But I might be wrong.

onus isn't on them to collect it's on you to return but you need to advise them of this before hand and clarrify any restocking fee, it way well be they can arange collection cheaper than you can post but it's at their discretion what they charge for this service

simon - you appear not to understand the distance selling regs.

'techically' the onus IS on them to collect, but morally if it's your cock up, you should pay for it. And restocking fees are a definite no no!

I actually assumed they would have it in their terms and conditions but they don't, it's a pretty grey area but if you wanted to be awkward you could insist on them picking it up but you wouldn't be able to control what they charge

If they don't mention return postage charges in the contract they are not allowed to make them (section 3.56 of the guidance document from your link).

BUT you would have to be a bit of a ****t not to accept some responsibility for ordering the wrong size and not offering to pay at least towards the cost of swapping it.
