Kicking the weekend off on a Thursday night for me with a rip round the local local with Mrsstu and a couple of mates that work at the brewery down the road.

This morning a solo ride over at Yair.
First time I've actually ridden there since spending half a day clearing a few of the trails and making a diversion where the climb/pushup is completely blocked.

It's easy to forget sometimes just how stunning the local stuff is.

Took a lunch bimble up to se my mums grave today.... wasn't lovely weather, but there's no-one for miles when you're up there.

No riding for me today. I’ve been swapping wheels, fitting tyre inserts, setting up suspension, and taping the frame on a new bike.
It has not rained here for about 3 weeks and guess what, the moment I finish the bike the heavens opened up 😂.

Shakedown and suspension tweaking tomorrow and then it’s over to Torridon and Crask of Aigas for a couple of bigger spins on it………or maybe back on the Specialized Status.

Kicked off the weekend early (so far as riding bikes goes anyway) with a dusty and bluebell heavy local post work loop yesterday. Ah the joys of no longer living in London.

My commuting trail is getting a bit brambly in places so I took the secateurs up this morning to trim the worst of it

Followed by an explore of some new nice routes

Up to the most disappointing "viewpoint" ever. Not even worth a photo

Back on the bike after a few enforced weeks away. I'm recovering from Covid, eldest recovering from busted knee. The bird song and greenery of spring is just ace. My fitness, not.

This is 'taking it easy' at Comrie - all but Huck to Flat...

Enjoying the bluebell photos! My fourth ride on the mtb in two weeks, more than I've managed in the past year and it's alot more fun than the gravel bike. Back home on the wolds and finding some new nadgery singletrack which was fun.

always fancied that ride. What is it like?

I spent a couple of hours at cathkin exploring the new trails and features that have been built.

Had two hours free yesterday so got out for a blast round the Bristol trails, which were bone dry and dusty, as they have been for a couple of weeks. Pissing down today, but hopefully the trails will dry out again before Tuesday evening's ride.

Rivi was very dusty yesterday morning...

Should be damped down nicely after the rain now though.

Got caught in the rain at lunchtime yesterday while I was at 850m. It more-or-less stayed on until I got back to the van four hours later!

Finally got the quirky 'downcountry-lite' / XC / marathon bike rebuilt as I want it today. Now just got to actually plan and do the things it was bought for over two years ago...

https://flic.kr/p/2nhT1TV

https://flic.kr/p/2nhVC7L

https://flic.kr/p/2nhTgLs

So, took it out for a quick shakedown ride this morning. All was fine until the non-drive crank kept working loose (entirely my fault for a bordeline spacer setup on the BB due to the chain device and lack of ISCG mounts on the frame. So had to turn back and soft-pedal home before fixing and another quick spin out to check my spannering was OK.

No dust for me! Went out for a loop round the Quantocks and it was all a bit moist. Plenty of grip though so was all good. There was pretty poor visibility though down to low cloud so the only picture I took is in a small valley, that will have to do.
