I have just lost the original 90-degree bite valve on my Dakine, which I never really got along with. Has anyone got any suggestions for a replacement? I was going to get a Dakine Surge Valve from CRC, but they are out of stock at the mo. What's out there that is cheaper, better and available?

Not sure if it's cheaper but like you I never really got on with the Hydrapak bite valve on my Dakine so I changed the tube & bite valve to one of Camelbak's finest.

Camelbak's tube is slightly smaller diameter than Hydrapak's but it fits onto the reservoir attachment quite easily if you heat the end of the tube in hot water.

the surge ones are definately better than the pants oem ones

neither as nice as camelback- which dont fit on the hose so rocketmans idea sounds like the best bet

I had a pack with one of those Surge valves, it dripped all the time, made me look like I'd peed myself. So I bought a brand new replacement valve but that leaked. I got hold of an entire new bladder, tube and valve assembly and that leaked too. Then I replaced the whole thing with a nice new Camelbak and all was sunshine and lollipops once more.

If you don't mind looking like you've lost control of your basic functions all the time, go for it...

What about all these Camelbak-type reservoirs on ebay. Are they any good? Or do you have to buy an original?
