Does anyone know where I might find some instructions for removing/replacing Shimano levers (and I mean the levers from the resevoir assembly rather than the whole lever unit)? It's with the intention of fitting Straitline CNCed levers. The units are old style LX M585s (resevoir parallel to the bars). I have an exploded diagram from the Shimano website, which shows the parts but some simple, numpty proof instructions would be a plus.

Simple enough job, loosen the grub-screw (part no.5, you may need to squeeze the lever a bit to access it), this will allow you to push the pivot pin (part no.6)through. Screw the lever reach adjuster all the way through the adjuster barrel(part no.11)and the lever will pull out. Re-assemble by reversing the above procedure.
