Bit complicated. Really want a HT that is long, low and slackish like my ST4. To suit my short-legged, long armed gibbon like frame. Had the cove for nearly four years and loved it. But every time I switch from the ST4, it just feels too short now. And I don't want to run a longer stem/layback etc on it as then it just feels horrible.
So options. Frame for 120mm non tapered forks. Mostly for zining around the Forest of Dean, but also for riding all winter everywhere. Has to be less than I get for the Cove frame which eBay research suggests is between £400 and £500
Not a Cotic much as I love them, but they don't fit (had one). Not a PA (had one, liked it, too butch for what I need).
I was taken by a carbon 456 I saw at Bike Science which obviously is bit more grr but for £1500 amazing value. Especially as I can buy it on my (own company) BTW scheme.
Preference tho is just a frame swap. What should I be looking at?
Rode a Hummer back to back with my Ti 456 and the Cove felt slacker. Was only a brief ride so you can take this with a pinch of salt but thought I'd offer it anyway.
C345 FRAME AT £300 IS A crazy bargain. Very good frame indeed
Well £400 but still a bargain! 23.8in TT and nice and low. Would be less slack with a 120mm fork but even soo.. tempting.
what would happen if you stuck a 140mm fork on the Hummer? (?slacken headangle & lengthen effective top tube?)
Theres a cove handjob frame on gumtree edinburgh the now for 350. Dunno if thats yer kinda thing.
