[#6420664]

After a year the Fox Float forks on my bike are dead - my own fault for not servicing them earlier, but really, one year and they are shot? The damper knob snapped off trying to turn it to get to the grub screw (!!) and the bushes have torn the lower parts of the stanchions to shreds. Now I know thats' my fault, but my old Rockshox have had far worse treatment and got nothing worse than extra sticky forks till I changed the lube... Anyway - any ideas? I believe it can take a 130 fork so any suggestions? Revelations seem to be the favourite, but has anyone any experience they can give? (Serious suggestions only thanks - I've had the piss taken out of me enough already!)

Ha! The usual, as little as possible, but need a 15mm axle and min 120 travel, so guessing £200 minimum, up to £400 I suppose - looking for the biggest bang for my buck, with - hopefully - a decent lifespan!

Revelations...........

Or Rebas - they're not noodle things, so if you ride more xc than AM (natch), they are a good option.

They need to be pretty crash resistant too! 😉

Had some X-Fusion 29 Trace 110- 140mm for some time and really like them. Bit more expensive than what you're looking at but still worthy of mention. They do a cheaper version too I believe.

I reckon Rebas or Revs like above with the most expensive damper you can afford. The thing with rockshox is they are easily serviceable

Ha ha! Thanks 100mphplus.... 😉 (You can tell he's seen my riding!)
Have heard back from Mojo - anywhere between £320 - £450 to repair my old forks depending on what they need / I wanted - gulp! Canyon have said that as the 29er came with a 110mm fork I'd have to stick with one - it was actually a travel reduced 120mm, so that's not exactly straightforward., and that a 130-140 fork would invalidate my frame warranty - no surprise there... Pretty much set on some Revelation RTC3's at 130mm and hope for the best - thanks for the advice guys!

Martin, merlincycles are selling off 120mm rebas cheap atm which are great forks, just ignore Kidley's experience as he's a beast on anything 😉
I have 2 pairs that are still mint after a lot of riding and have been neglected too tbh.
