[Closed] Replacement bolt kits for ground anchors

[#5001693]

I have a couple of ground anchors that I removed from my last place.

Does anyone know where I can buy replacement bolt kits? The ones I've found are about £15 which seems a bit of a rip off for what is essentially four expanding bolts and some ball bearings to knock into the bolt heads. I'd need to buy two kits (£30) for just six bolts.

Even just countersunk bolts would be OK as I could use them to replace the standard bolts in normal expanding bolts.

I'm equally happy with resin kits if you can use them in brick walls.

Better put them in with more care next time..., if you can take them out so can someone else.

Lets just say it took a couple of hours over two evenings, and would be impossible with bikes over them.

It involved a big drill, several drill bits, a huge hammer, big noise and lots and lots of swearing. So I'm not worried about that side of it.

So, anyone know who sells either countersunk resin bolts or countersunk expanding bolts for a reasonable price? I'm not even that worried about the ball bearings as I can just buy a selection and find a good fit.

If you can say what M size you want I can source them for about 50 p each ish [ more for larger]
You would need to source your own ball bearing but tbh you could just drill out the hex head

Thanks junkyard, I think they are M12 but will have to find a nut to double check. I guess you are talking about just the countersunk bolt rather than an expanding thingy?

If I remember right a 1/4 in ball is a good interference fit in an M12 hex head (6mm AF)

There is a shop in Macc that stocks pretty much everything engineering and ironmongery wise.

Let me know what size (m10/m12) what length and how many your after and I'll get you a price if you want?
