How are you doing yours?
Got a new non UST Race King with a torn sidewall, and my mates got two brand new torn NN's

EDIT; UST Nobby Nics.

gaffered up the inside, superglued the out. Held for many more miles afterwards.

Pooks solution sounds like the sort of thing I'd try. Anygood with a darning needle? Could give some extra mechanical reinforcement. Then Duck tape inside and superglue the tear.

Best of luck.

For smallish tears up to maybe 10mm, roughen up the inside with emery, cut out a piece of old roadie tyre, and super-glue it on. I've seen long tears on non-UST tyres sown up with dental floss, although I've never tried it myself or know how long it lasts TBH.

Try anything you feel happy riding down a rocking singletrack at speed with 😉

I've used the gaffer / duct tape on the inside approach for small tears. Works ok as it spreads the load from the tube over the undamaged carcass.

Superglue for me, along with just a normal patch on the inside - done it with two 2.4 NN's, and they hold up well running tubeless.

i tried using tape on the inside of a new tyre but kept having to replace it every few weeks as the tape ripped on stones/ roots.
recently have been trying to use a plastic shim on the inside, like the ones you get for mounting lights, and then holding it in place with some duck tape. not sure i would rely on it for a remote ride, but for trail centre use it has been holding up fine. saved what was an expensive tyre for me.

I had this recently, on a Conti Ultra Gatorskin that had been on for a week 😡 I've ummed and aahed about bodging it, but ultimately decided that my safety was worth the £24 for a new tyre. YMMV

shove an inner tube patch on the inside of the carcass if it's a MTB tyre - should be OK as low pressure

not sure what'd hold a biggish cut in a road tyre but at least a patch on the inside is being pressed on and not pushed off the carcass

Nobby Nics are soo bloody fragile - I've cut a UST one twice in about 4 rides, the second being a flint that pretty much severed one of the centre knobs. I've patched it again & cut off the knob - we'll see (planning on using tubeless again)
