Apologies for my lack of mechanical knowledge but I need to remove my XT rear brake complete to be sent back for warranty .
My frame has internal cable routing so how do I do it?
Which end do I start at? lever or calliper?
Will it just feed through once undone?
Will any fluid leak etc?
Thanks in advance
I would undo at the lever via the little bolt under the rubber gaitor.
Turn it anti-clockwise.

Then remove the nut and olive, (I think you may have to snip them off to be able to pull the hose through the internal routing but It may fit through)
You often have to yank the hose a bit to get the olive to come out of the lever. By yank, I mean persuade.

You will likely get a bit of oil escaping yes but being mineral oil, it's not going to burn or knacker paintwork.
Try feeding it through when undone, if not, I guess you may need to cut the olive off to be able to remove the nut and then withdraw it through the internal routing.
Thanks, that's a great help.
By olive I guess you mean that metal bit on the end?
Yeah, the bulgy bit is the olive. You will also see a metal bit inside the hose. This is the insert. As you tighten the nut, the olive forces the insert into the lever connection to make a seal.
The insert is not a problem as it's short and if you cut the olive off, it'll be off too.
