[#3734175]

Hi all,

Looking at a set of 318 Solo Air Toras, which have poploc. Can the poploc be removed, and the internals be modded in some way so that external compression/lockout can be had?

Similar to what I've done to my Pikes, although Toras don't have MoCo I'm guessing?

Uh...isn't poploc just a different way of adjusting compression?

I imagine you've seen some very cheap ones? My thoughts would just to be to stump up for a better fork.in the 1st place rather than try to improve a pretty basic fork.

I did this on my Rebas but I had to remove a spring from the damper unit to convert it to a manual. If you don't do this the Lockout just springs back to full travel mode. Of course, it may be totally different on Toras!

cynic-al, yes, but I want to have variably adjustable compression ( not fully on/off as pop-loc is), and adjusted via a dial on the fork, not a lever on the bars.

For Pikes you simply unhook a spring in the MoCo which means the dial doesn't always return to its extreme.

Andrew, yeah, I've done it to my Pikes, just wondering if anyone knows if you can do a similar job to the Toras 🙂

Are Toras that basic/bad? They would be for my girlfriends bike, to replace her Marz MX Pro LO which are too stiff for here.

But the dial on the poploc adjusts it?

Fair enough if you want crap off your bars.

I thought "most" poplocs were just on-off, whereas the fancier ones had adjustable compression on them too?

Oh, sorry, you mean as in the amount the pop-loc locks to can be adjusted. Yeah, I guess that's a fair point. Would still rather just have a dial on the fork to twiddle though.
