Hi,

Can anyone point me in the direction of the tool (nut?) I'll need to remove these Magura disc rotors?

On my old bike the rotors were bolted on but it looks like I'll need something specific here.

Thanks, Mark

That's standard centerlock, should undo with a Shimano external BB tool. The spanners fit better than the socket type.

BB tool. count the number of slots and measure the diameter and you should be able to narrow down which you need. though id have thought would be the shimano one, as its a shimano lockring

Yes it's a Shimanoe one.

Within Shimano lockrings, are there are number of different options to choose from?

They made the BB cups smaller in the last round of updates so there's 2 sizes floating around. You should need the standard one which is the larger of the two.

There's actually 3 sizes now.
The original, new XT and new XTR.

I've just taken a closer look at mine.

It has 16 notches and just over 4cm diameter.

Hopefully this should narrow it down to one of the Shimano options.

Thanks all, Mark

Can you still use the Shimano cassette removal tool as well these days?

Mine looks like it should fit but not tried.

You need a 44mm HT2 bb tool. Any of the following will work...
