I recently picked up a Giant Anthem X2 and the shock is due a service soon. I think I'm going to do it myself. My question - do I need to remove the crankset before removing the shock? As you can see from the picture the pivot where the bottom of the shock is scured on the drive-side is very close to the chainrings and I don't think I can fit an allen key in there. Maybe I'm approaching this all wrong and I only need to open the pivot on the other side?

you need to remove the chainset.
