Hi all, I got an FSA BB30 conversion sleeve/shell for my 2014 carbon synapse. Fitted it today and it wasn't until it was in that I realised my frame is 73mm and this shell is 68mm, so it's not long enough. I know I should have checked but I didn't and now I'm stuck - I got it in easy enough but I'm not sure the best way to get it out? The bearings were easy enough with the park tool but this shell has a bit more grip than they did!
Is there a special tool for this?
Thanks.
Ice cubes in the sleeve, hot water on the shell?
Edit: That looks like the tool for the bearings not the sleeve.
Thanks guys, I presume that tool works by force, i.e. a hammer on one end?
Just seen this video on youtube that works (I think) on the same principle but with an old bottom bracket, or even a new one - suspect their cheaper than the tool..
You'll need a headset press (swiftly withdraws loan offer ๐ )
Can't believe he used such a small hammer. Amateur.
Is this the sort of thing I should trust the lbs to do or should I be going to a Cannondale specialst?
