I've got a pair of Fox float 32 140mm(bargin purchase + very used original Talas) on my Trek ex9. i was thinking of reducing the travel by 20mm so its closer to the original intended setup so that the steering tightens up and to improve the climbing to stop the front wheel wandering .So is there any ill effects of shortening the travel ie. regards damping and spring rate (i know their air sprung).
All views welcome.

The only thing that changes is the amount of travel, no effects on anything else.
