I've got a "seen better days" Selle SLR, which is in good condition, other than the (very thin) leather has worn through almost all the way round the edge.

I took it into a saddlers at the weekend to see if they could recover it, to which the answer was "no" as they couldn't get leather that thin.

So. Any ideas where I *can* get really thin leather? Also ideas for glue? I've tried repairing saddles before with a hot glue gun and found it doesn't really work all that well. The glue tends to peel off the saddle hull as (despite roughening it up) it doesn't bond to it very well.

Thanks,

Jon
