Hi All,

It's been done to death I'm sure, but I can't find any old threads. Can anyone recommend a set of mudguards for a Giant Defy(Ally)? I'm trying to reduce the number of reasons for not going out on the bike this winter.

Mudhugger.

Just type Mudhugger into the search box up above and you'll see many people agree (those that don't mind having mudguards on their bikes that is...)

Not sure mudhuggers are quite suited to a road bike....

If you can get them to fit, PDW Full Metal are great. If not, SKS.

Giant do their own guards for the alloy bikes - https://www.giant-bicycles.com/gb/giant-speedshield-contend---avail-aluxx-fender-black

They've been on my alloy Defy for a few years and they've been fine.
But now I have a Carbon Defy - does anyone have any suggestions for that?

I'd investigate those foldy plastic guards personally. I ran an ass-saver on the back of my saddle for winter commutes and it did the job well.

I followed the conventional wisdom and tried Chromoplasts and after the general screw-around and bodgery of trying to make them fit I was extremely let down at the rattley hell that followed until I removed them again and went back to cheap foldy plastic. Obviously, opinions vary as SKS sell a lot of guards.
