Hi, I need my rear Crossmax SL repaired. It's a couple of years old and after a couple of recent whacks has become slighty egg shaped! My LBS can't do anything with it, so i'm looking to get a new rim and probably an undetermined number of new spokes.

Anyone have any recommendations? I'll probably have to post it.

Find another LBS?
My LBS (Hargroves) straightened my old Crossmaxs and replaced a couple of spokes. They said Mavic distribute their own parts now, so any shop should be able to get spares.

Problem is Mavic only have a service centre, not a proper distribution centre so most stuff ordered has to come from France first, and they only sell Mavic so most shops can't make up a big enough order to make free delivery as the could previously through madison.

If your LBS sells anything Mavic ask them to get in touch with the Mavic Service centre (based in Camberley, Surrey) They offer a full range of repairs/wheel servicing. It's not going to be cheap and don't try contacting them yourself (they don't usually deal direct with the public!!) if your LBS won't help, as others have said try somewhere that will. Turn around at mo. is approx 1 week to 10 days

Hmm, Biketreks in Ambleside sell Mavic wheels (i'm in cumbria), might give them a ring tomorrow.

My LBS doesn't sell any Mavic stuff, it's not that great, just handy!

We can get any Mavic bits we want, it's just a question of having an account with them. Bits arrive within 48 hrs and are actually quite reasonably priced. The only issue is that spokes have to be bought in packs, not individually, and there are several different types. This can make stocking them all a wee bit expensive initially.
