I want to keep my 2010 Giant Anthem running. It's a nice light bike and perfectly suited to the type of riding that is within my local area. I am looking at replacing the front fork with a budget friendly 26/27.5, 100-120mm travel, straight steerer, 9mm QR option.
Does anybody have any good feedback or tips on where to find?:
(1) Suntour Epixon (such as

)
(2) Manitou Markhor (stocked by Rose but unavailable due to Brexit! )
(3) Any other budget friendly suggestions

I got a Rockshox XC Silver TK from Decathlon when I was building the boy's bike back in the first lockdown. Just checked though and they are out of stock. Took me quite a while to find something if I'm honest, even eBay wasn't much use.

I put a 29" Epicon on a hardtail to replace an old Reba that is pretty knackered. Very impressed with it. It's not a high-end fork, but worked well out of the box as an XC trail fork. I would go for the 27.5" version if I was rebuilding a 26" bike. That way you can swap it to a newer frame if you need to.

When I was looking at this the Epixon looked the best option. You may also find a Raidon which is quite similar - but possibly heavier. I actually bought a 100-130mm U-Turn Revelation secondhand in the end.

Another Revelation user here, 426 duals can be had cheap but the service kits can pull the price up a lot. Main thing is stanchion wear, if they've been looked after that's not an issue otherwise avoid.

Recon 325s arent bad either, just a bit more basic. Again, same wear checks.

I'd be biting Wild Hunters hand off for those Revs.

@Wildhunter2009 unfortunately I am located in Scotland and so it wouldn't be completely hassle free to take you up on your very generous offer. However, if the forks were in decent enough condition I'd be happy to compensate you more than a packet of digestives for your effort in packaging them up!

Will dig them out of the shed and take some closeups. They are old but in pretty good condition I think.

I will investigate and get back to you!
