Following my usual neglect I've disovered a crack almost all the way around my the chainstay on my HT. Has been caused in the first place by tyre rubbing hole in chainstay (yes, neglect again). I think it is just about more cost effective to get it fixed. It's just cro-mo steel.

Bob Jackson say £70 for new chainstay and same for respray.

Can anyone recommend any others I should consider?

Argos Cycles in Bristol were very good to me.

Another vote for Argos, they've done good work for me in the past. It was only on very close inspection that you could see the repair when it was finished.

Quick turnaround too.

2unfit2ride, why not vernon barker? I've never had work done by him but when I contacted him once he seemed very knowledgable and helpful.

try Chris Marshall cycles in Keighley 01535691073.

His workshops a bit odd (read stacked to the roof) but he does a cracking job , he once welded a disc mount to an aluminium frame for me and heat treated it properly too.

rob1984p, see the pic above, it's worse when you know what frame that was done to 🙁

oh right, the disc mount? does look a bit agricultural. The chainstays make my guess some sort of soft tail titanium thing, moots or merlin?
