[#8193822]

I've taken delivery of a new bike at the weekend and don't really like the grips that came standard with it, they seem a bit thin and cheap.

Any suggestions welcome. Lock on, and quite thick preferred. Thanks.

ESI silicone grips are brilliant. Not lock on, but they do a chunky variant if you want a thick one.

Esi chunkys are very comfy, but not that durable. Supercaz grzips are the same diameter and soft for a lock-on. Only 1 collar too, so they are comfy right to the edge.

Odi longnecks.... Like the comfy part of the death grips.... Only it covers the whole grip.

If you want something thick I have some Chromag Squarewave XL's for sale. Good solid lock ons: http://www.chromagbikes.com/grips/squarewave-xl

They're not overly thick but sensus swayze are a nice grip, especially if you have wide hands like me. Plenty of room for my large paws without the clamps digging in.

Chromag Palmskins are good and Shorelines distribution are doing 50% off them with a code (I think Chromag50 but it's on their site).

sl80 - they are used. End caps have a couple of scuffs but the actual grips are VGC.

would like to try the Deathgrips at some point but I'm happy enough with my Renthal tacky grips right now.

Recently took a punt on some Santa Cruz grips - really nice, just the right level of chunkiness and length (bit like myself, really )

I used to be all about the ESIs, but found my hands would start to go numb towards the end of longer rides. Now I'm on Ergon EG1s, which would seem to be the exact opposite of ESIs in terms of squish and thickness, but the difference for the better is amazing.

never got on with the ESI grips myself. I'm a Lizard Skins Charger man these days. Soft and grippy.

I've got some PP Cr35's which are comfortable for the most part but a bit harsh for big up lift days

I have recently removed the Sensus Disadaboss they were comfy but a little thin overall

I think the Deathgrips look like a good middle ground.

Thick deathgrips here too, starting to wear through but good value so will definitely buy again.

Deathgrips were good, until I crashed & snapped the internal sleeve & ended up with a throttle ๐Ÿ™‚

There were none available, so I replaced them with some ODI Elite Flow, which are even better IMO. More expensive but seemingly better made & longer lasting.
