Looking for some XC SPD winter boots, emphasis on WARMTH as I get freezing on the bike in these colder months 🙁 Also waterproof would be nice, and I'm looking to spend around £120 max. I've had a look through the reviews section of this site, and Lake seem to be a good option so will see if the LBS has any in stock, but is there anything else I should be considering?
if ya kin find yer size, the shim MW80's are pretty durn shweet.
if it's wet enough, water will eventually get in...but yer toes stay toastie.
Be careful with MW80 sizing, I'm usually a 44 but have bought 46's as the MW80 has a reputation for quite small sizing - glad I did.
MW80s without a doubt, but I echo what's been said, try before you buy
finally got some MW80s and they are great, i bought same size as my usual shimnao shoes and the fit's good for normal / mid-thickness winter socks. the toe area is more roomy than usual shimnao shoes anyway.
Got to say, my specialized defroster boots are lovely and warm. Plus they have all those fancy lumps and bumps in the insole.
