Please 🙂 Currently have a pair of High Roller 2.35s and I find them very slow. Since I bought the bike I am doing more XC/single track riding (including a few miles of road to get to the trails) than I used to so the HR's aren't really suiting me. Is there a faster alternative that still offers decent grip/puncture resistance (running tubes still!).

Spesh Ground Control Grids. 2.3's on my HT - couple of rides in and I'm reasonably impressed in terms of rr/speed and grip.
I had Bonty 2.25 XR4's on mine. The older ones looked more like a 2.4 but the newer version does actually look 2.25 ish.
I use Bontrager XR4 team issue on my BFe. Brilliant underrated tyre.

Could not really fault them - plenty of grip in all conditions, tougher than they look, and only 700g so a good deal lighter than the HR/Minion options I've also used.
Spesh Purgatory's on Soul here for similar stuff - great allrounders and decent volume

Got Purgatorys both ends on my BFe right now. Top all rounders and plenty fast enough for my mixed on/off road commute.
Another +1 for the Spesh Purgatory for the front, although I'd pair it with a Ground Control on the rear as I found the Purgatory a little draggy on the back.
Just replaced a purgatory with a butcher on the front and have a captain on the back.
