As title, I'm building myself a HT (first ever one) around a 16" Blue Pig frame and need some squashy forks up front.

They wont be new and I'm hoping to get some from the classified section on here so a couple of options would be useful !

Oh, they need to be 20mm maxle though

Pikes, work really well. Coil U-Turn Sektors. Ditto and relatively cheap new.

Some coil U-turn pikes in the classifieds at the mo. I've got a pair, very nicely controlled and super smooth 🙂

Yeah seen those. Was hoping for a set a little cheaper but may have to bite the bullet

Pikes Sektors or Revelations. If you can stretch to a used 2011, or 2010 blackbox revelation, that'd maybe be the best option- my Teams cost only a little more than the best new price I can find for Sektors. Pikes if you can get a good price but... Mmm, well, Pike fans might grumble but even the lightest Pike is still pretty weighty. The old motion control's perfectly decent but if you're going to work a Pig hard you'll be able to benefit from better. Just a bit outclassed by the modern Revs IMO, unless you want something extremely strong.

The Pig can take monster forks but I've got my Lyriks in my Mmmbop just now and even wound down to 140mm IMO it doesn't suit it, the balance of the thing feels totally off. Personal taste of course but it makes it feel cumbersome and rooted to the ground, combination of the weight out front and slack angles I guess? Or maybe just me 😉

Really? So you're saying you'd prefer less than 140mm forks on your mmmbop? I'm running lyriks on mine and never wind them down.

Nah, it's not the length- usually it has 120-150mm Revelations (and a +10 Hope headset so effectively 130-160)... It's the weight, or the balance. Mind you the rest of the bike's pretty light so that's probably throwing it off too. With the Revs in it feels like a different bike.

I was tempted by some Rock Shox Revelation RLT Dual Position (120-150 mm) Air 2011 QR15mm for a bargain 349eur here...

http://www.actionsports.de/gb/Components/ForksRear-Shocks/Suspension-Forks/Rock-Shox-Revelation-RLT-Dual-Position-Air-2011-QR15mm-Poploc-schwarz::37471.html

Reckon they would suit the Blue Pig well.
