I've managed to bend mine, somehow.

36t and 24t rings, not too expensive but also not made of cheese. Any recommendations?

Just bought Deore ones and fitted them to my XT cranks - in that combo as a double with lightweight bash, can't fault it and worked a treat

buy a cheap crankset that has rings that fit your cranks. Last time I got 3 shimano rings for £20

So is there any real point in buying (say) Blackspire or Middleburn over Deore, which are half the price?

Deore for me - much cheapness and reasonable longevity

I would not skimp on rings. TA for longevity and they are not that much more than new shimano if at all.

TA for me, they look good too which is obviously important. 🙂

They're quite a lot more than Deore! Looks are unimportant as they'll be hid behind a bashguard...

O.K they do cost more but that is for a good reason they are fabulous components.

Deore rusts, so surely causing wear?

Middleburn, half the price and twice the longitivety of Shimano

But then I do have XTR960 so a bit limited in choice...

Deore every time, last much longer, weigh fractions more, much cheapness compared with anything else.

Ones I've used in the past havent rusted..

Don't think I've ever had rust issues with Deore before. And they are dirt cheap on CRC. But will some Middleburns last twice and a bit as long, I guess is what I'm asking!

Unless Middleburns are made out of steel too, they will not.

^ no pickup ramps or pins 😉

Deore, made of steel so heavier and can rust, other than that they're fine.

I'd go Middleburn if I didn't want a steel one.

I'm indifferent to steel, to be honest. Lastyness and cheapyness are my main concerns.
