Hi - never ridden there so looking for some interesting trails (legal only please for a day ride) - duration 20 miles/4-5 hours. Any locals recommend something that fits the bill?

Much if it is cheeky - a lot odf the old cart routes are technically footpaths even though they are are hard packed.
Probably best to say what you are after
At that duration it will be mainly an XC route
I would do mast road then over to darwen - BW mainly two footpaths- both avoidable but both hard packed paths- then back via healy nab
If you say when you are going I may be able to ride with you or someone else from here,
Most of the good stuff is foot path/hardish to find and hard to link up.
