Freehub blew up on me on my way back from my ride this morning leading to a pumptastic ride back to my van.... conserving downhill speed whilst desperately trying not to skid in the snow was erm interesting...
The time has come to upgrade I feel. Funds are tight though - just need something reliable which doesn't weigh the same as a small planet. Any recommendations?
Superstar are doing Stans rims on their Switch hubs for £220. Just have to cross all your fingers and hope you get one of the sets that's built right, or prepare yourself for war 😉
New freehub?
Hub shell got damaged too. Cheapo Shimano hub and entry level Bonty rims. Not really economically viable to repair unfortunately.
On ones look like a good deal.
new hub + spoke key + a few hours to rebuild rear wheel? Much cheaper than a new wheelset, more satisfying too.
