I have a park IB2 at the moment, kept constantly in one of the side pockets of my pack, so when it's wet, it gets kinda damp and is now a rusty awkward horrible thing.

any rust resistant multitools, or is the strength of tool grade steel a trade off with non rusty types?

usual requirements, 2-8mm allen, T25, chain breaker would be a bonus, teasmade would be nice, but probably cumbersome.

Had one of these On-One ones for 2 years now. Lives in my back pack, and been used in all weathers, no sign of rust yet. Standard tools - 2-8mm Allen keys, screwdrivers, T25, and chaintool. Was £5 when I bought it, but £7.99 is still a good deal.

I found emptying the pack after a wet ride helps but most metal tools will pick up some rust if left damp in its pack

Buy whatever tool you fancy then place it in a little Ziploc bag with a few drops of oil or one of those Silica gel sachets and keep that in your pack.
That should stop it rusting whilst not in use.

did think of that, but in it would mean unzipping a ziploc bag with chunky gloves, in horizontal freezing rain, which lets be honest, is when most trail repairs are required..

I think I will wrap it in something, but fancy justifying a new tool to the wife (no s****ing at the back)

my sks travel tool box has a little surface rust on the tools but nothing to write home about - certainly isnt stiff in anyway - but ive had it for going on 10 years.

Great bit of kit IMO - even if a little pricy.

it lives in the front pocket of my camelback.

I've had my Topeak Alien for about 5 years now. Despite the fact the tyre leavers on it are missing/snapped the whole thing is still in pretty good condition. Well, not the cleanest maybe, but definitely rust free!

Took a lot of abuse, but I used to spray a bit of GT85 on it after getting it wet. Now I upgraded to zipped plastic bag to carry the tools... 8)
