setup the new Wattbike last night, good fun having a play around on the Hub app, where I will stay for a while to get the hang of it all before looking to Zwift and other apps.
I definitely need more airflow/cooling, mains power is fine, budget reasonable - what works well ?

I've a regular one, not the cardio and it's excellent. Idea was to fit with a smart plug and run through Alexa though it's not worked out. I'd probably go for the cardio if I was to choose again.
Yep, as above - if you're not bothered about changing fan speed while on the bike, get the non remote one.
They're brilliant, the only slight downside is the column of air is a little too directed and narrow and for coverage of your head and your body you really need 2 of the things.
Still, cheaper than a kickr headwind by a huge amount. There's a new elite fan coming next year too but that's going to be hideously expensive too...

hmmm, they were only £50 when I debated buying a couple last month, seems to have shot up a bit even with the 10% offer... actually makes the twin-pack with remote a bit more appealing 🤔 (although again, they were slightly cheaper the other day due to a flash sale...)10% off too so helpful !

I’ve got two of these which do the job pretty well, one front one back. I just leave them on whatever setting (1-3) and turn them on/off with the remote (broom handle to the wall socket).
Have to echo the Vacmaster Cardio suggestion. I have three and they are brilliant!
Try and ensure one is cooling your back - makes such a difference.
Got this - https://www.screwfix.com/p/hf-45a-18-industrial-floor-fan-220-240v/105rj - from Screwfix and works well, but I'm a lazy chap and always forget to switch it on before I start so I've got it connected to a smart plug so when I do remember about it I do it via my phone.
We use the 3 speed 18" floor fans as linked to above.
Plugged into a smart socket (£8 Tekkin thing on amazon) which is then controlled through Alexa.
I use an 18" fan like the one linked above but they're £35ish from Screwfix.
Big cheap fan much like the others. Mine's mounted on the wall above the PC screen and is plugged in to a switchable socket where I can just reach forward from the bars to turn it on (I very rarely turn it off again while still riding!). Puts plenty of air across body and head.
I just went to Screwfix and bought the biggest fan they had for the Crossfir Gym in our garage. Cost about £20-30 and works fine for that and using the turbo trainer. Looks very similar to the one @footflaps and @Dickbarton have.
Yep, I also have one of the Screfix fans, on a smart plug. My setup is right next to the patio door so I just open that then enjoy the fresh air being sucked in from the garden.

I have a Honeywell (900e?) very similar fan to one above, it's great as a second fan, but the throughput can't compete with the Toatronics pedestal we were bought (literally days before I was going to buy a Vacmaster)... At least the Toatronics has a whisper quiet night mode as well as a deccent turbo mode!

Ive gone from a bog standard fan like the Screwfix model to a Vacmaster Cardio and it is a far better bit of kit for the job.
Controllable speed aside its just a better air mover for the job.
But then, its 3 times the price.
Another vote for the vacmaster cardio. I like to start with no fan on (particularly in the winter as I have it setup in a garage) and gradually turn up the power as I get hotter.
