[#4289110]

Looking for something cheap (and 9 speed) to go on my winter bike. Not really wanting to spend more than 30 quid, so the options I'm considering are are a shimano Hg 61, Sram 970 and Sram 980.

Any suggestions or thoughts would be welcome?

oh and while I'm here, any good suggestions for lock on grips that aren't silly money either.

ta

works fine and at a good cost. plus make a nice tinging noise with my XT hub when coasting.

The merlin deal looks a goody, as does the on one 980.

Any opinions durability/weight?

I use PG980's on all my bikes- they last well and partial aluminium spider reduces damage to alloy freehubs

have no experience of HG61

Claimed weights, PG980 305g, hg61 335g

I can't imagine there's much in it as far as durability is concerned? I've never had a problem with the HG61's i've used.

The pg980 does appear slightly better but it's £10 more expensive?

Decisions, decisions!
