I picked up my new Orange 5 Pro yesterday and noticed it comes with a pretty crap looking shimano cassette that appears to be made up of individual sprockets instead of having the majority mounted on a alloy carrier.

Which cassette would you recommend in the region of £40? Familiar with Shimano but are Sram worth checking out?

Your advice would be much appreciated as i seem to recall people saying that the individual sprocket type cassettes chew up freehubs, which i don't want to do to my lovely Pro 2 hubs.

Swapped from a SRAM 990 to an XT on my 5 SE bit lighter and has lasted longer and is cheaper!

I've always found them much the same. See what you can get for your money. The biggest difference between models is weight.
