Just taken my new fangled (sic) Raceface Deus X-Type chainset off as it was starting to feel a bit grindy - looks like the bearings have had it - I've never had one of these types of chainsets before (still a bit of a square taper luddite at heart).
Sooo... what's worth getting as a replacement ? - any recommendations or horror stories ? Are all external BB's interchangable ?

Getting no replies and being kind of inquisitive I took off the dust covers and discovered 6805 sealed bearings in each cup - can get these as cheap as chips of the bay - any reason to not just bung a couple of these in there ?
Any tips for getting them out ?
Oh I also took the seal off and tried to replace the grease to see if that would get me back on the road - but the ball bearings are still crunchy 🙁
