[#1986307]

looking to replace my SRAM cassette as I had left it too long to replace the chain and it has worn slightly too much.

I'm looking for a good value one that doesn't damage the hub splines too badly.

any ideas?

Sram PG970/980/990 will see you good. Lightweight, very good quality, durable and does not damage your freehub. Reasonably priced aswell..

SLX - pretty dashed good for £30 IMO - Merlin &/or Wooly Hat Shop often have them sub £30.

SLX is very hard to fault. A little bit heavier than XT but half the weight difference comes from the lockring, which is interchangable, so if you have an old XT one knocking about it'll fit. Shifting as far as I can tell is identical to XT.

I have a Halo hub (Halo freedom disc rims). I have literally just replaced the chain yesterday and did the Whinlatter red routes once.

SLX will be fine, best value cassette there is IMHO (weight vs cost vs longevity)
