I'm looking to replace the rear Kenda Nevagal on my 29er, it doesn't leave much mud clearance and feels quite draggy on smoother trails.... Can anyone recommend a non-ust 29er rear tyre suitable for most conditions that rolls well and isn't too wide?
Try some of the Bonty tyres, they're just larger dia. versions of their 26er tyres, which work pretty damned well, plus they'll run tubed and tubeless.
the WTB Prowler's my favorite rear tyre ATM.

2nd the Bonty - I'm using ACX 2.2's which I've no complaints about. Keep thinking about trying a Mud X but haven't got round to it yet.
Thanks.... might give that WTB a try (mainly 'cos I'm lazy and can mail order it from CRC ๐ )
maxxis crossmarks are my fave 29er tyre
Have you emigrated then Trev?
Or is Manchester in the grip of a heatwave.
;o)
i havent ridden those tires since summer anyway! they work really well in the mud for me.
second crossmark on the rear, performs great and good for clearance
doesn't like it too muddy though, thats when the Mud X come out which are very good
